HFHSC Weekly Construction Report 5/30/16

Posted on Posted in Construction

The Habitat for Humanities of Snohomish Co. (HFHSC) weekly construction report keeps stakeholders informed and involved. Published Mondays. Covers our active projects. Feedback/questions welcome at construction@habitatsnohomish.org.

– Concrete pour goes off without a hitch
– First floor framing (sill and joists) installed
– Store fence project moves ahead setting all 17 posts

Phoenix 2 (P2) Two builds planned, and 2.5 delivered. Main work item: pouring 15 cubic yards of concrete on Wednesday. Then, a small crew returned Thursday to remove the forms. That cleared the way for Saturday builders to install the first floor framing.

See more P2 progress photos 5/30/16 here. Many thanks to all builders this week, especially those adding Thursday morning for the thankless task of removing, cleaning, and stacking forms.

At last count over 16 families expressed interest in becoming P2 owner/builders. The final applicant pool closed 6/1/16.

Twin Creeks (TC) No significant TC activities this week. One new tenant has been qualified, and will begin moving into TC in mid-June. When that occurs we’ll have six of seven units occupied.

A staff change at Gabbert Architects Planners (GAP) will likely delay completion of the Twin Creeks Village program document, the current deliverable. The program document is the TCV master plan, and key to getting it done. We’re 26 months away from ground breaking on 8/1/18. Delay (expecting a few weeks) not a significant impact.

Everett Store Fence Full crew of four builders dug 17 holes and filled them right back up again. Good natured about it too. So thankful! The effort gets us back on track. This Saturday a crew may be available for next step – installing top rail. Still on target to deliver fence on 6/13/16.

Store Fence Project - Concrete up next
