Oso Long Term Recovery Fund Update

Posted on Posted in News

Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County is holding all donations to the Oso Long Term Recovery Fund in a dedicated account with Coastal Community Bank.

Families affected by the Oso Mudslide are still in the process of contacting their corresponding Community Centers and FEMA relief assistance in order to obtain a complete needs assessment and be directed to the most appropriate relief organizations.

At this time, we expect that families who are interested in rebuilding their homes and becoming Habitat partner families will be contacting us later in the year and on an individual basis. Our partners within the county have indicated that we should expect approximately five qualifying families to be applying for Habitat homes.

In the meantime, we will continue to raise funds in order to be prepared for the Oso Families who seek to rebuild with Habitat for Humanity. Because of your support, we anticipate significantly reducing the time necessary to secure property and build safe and decent homes for these families to move into.

In order to best meet the needs of Oso families, Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County is actively participating in the following Oso Recovery Committees:

  • Snohomish County Multi-agency Task Force
    • Essential Needs and Long Term Recovery Subcommittee
    • Finance and Data Subcommittee
  • Darington and Arlington Local Long Term Recovery Community Centers
  • SR 530 Slide Funding Committee
