The Habitat Store accepts resellable and reusable building material donations to use in our developments, or to sell back to the public. Donations can be dropped off during business hours or we can schedule a pick-up if you are located in Snohomish County.
Donating to the Habitat Store is easy. Whether you are dropping off or having a donation picked up, our staff will provide you with a donation receipt that you can use for tax purposes. To find out more, call our hotline 425-405-7770.
What we accept:
All appliances must be clean and in 100% working order with no missing parts. Please include owner’s manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation. We do not accept used gas appliances.
We will take cabinets in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
We accept doors if they are in good condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc. Interior doors must not be painted.
We accept electrical parts, wire, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring. Must not have paint on visible surfaces.
We accept fans if they are complete and in working condition only.
We do note accept shag carpet, but will accept carpeting if it does not have stains or worn areas. We will accept vinyl flooring, but no scraps please!! We will accept box quantities of tile.
We accept non upholstered household furniture such as tables, wooden chairs, china cabinets, hutches, curio cabinets, etc. We do not accept upholstered furniture such as sofas, easy chairs, futons.
We accept hardware for doors, cabinets, etc.
We accept most light fixtures in working condition. We do not accept fluorescent fixtures or bulbs.
Lumber and Construction Materials
We accept full and half sheets of plywood. We accept full lengths of lumber. We will accept trim in smaller pieces, but not less than 4 feet long. Please no rot, screws or nails in the lumber.
Mirrors and Glass
We accept framed mirrors. No unframed mirrors or glass.
Windows and Screens
We accept double-pane vinyl windows only if the glass is intact and they are complete and in working order. Unframed single or double pane glass we cannot accept. All parts necessary for operation need to be provided.
Paint and Wall Coverings
We will take full, clean containers of latex paint purchased from a paint store. We do not accept leftovers or mixed containers. We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances, (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners, or other chemicals). Wallpaper is taken in full-unopened rolls.
Pipes: PVC, Metal or Copper
We accept 4' and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings.
Toilets, Showers, Sinks and Tubs
We accept tubs, showers, sinks and vanities if they are in good condition and clean. We accept toilets only if they are in working condition and are the low flush (1.6 gallon) type manufactured after 1997. All items must be perfectly clean without damage (no chips, cracks or stains). Fixtures must include all parts necessary for use and be in perfect operating condition. Faucets and other hardware must have good cosmetics without damage or rust and have all parts necessary for operation.
Roofing Material and Gutters
We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, metal roofing, and bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged.
Tools and Power Tools
We accept all hand tools and electric tools in working condition. We can accept gas powered equipment only if it is drained of gas.
By donating goods to the Habitat Store, you could qualify for a tax deduction and we will provide you with a reciept. Contact your accountant or tax adviser to determine how take a deduction for your donation, or see the IRS publications available at www.irs.gov.
