  • Must be willing to partner and complete 250 hours of sweat equity
  • Must have income between 50% – 80% AMI for Snohomish County

How To Apply

1. Review Requirements

Review to be sure you understand our Homeownership Program requirements as well as application requirements specific to the Habitat Home you are interested in.

2. Homebuyer Eligibility 

Complete the online Homebuyer Eligibility Form linked below to determine if you are eligible to apply for this Habitat Home.

3. Full Application

Once your eligibility form has been reviewed and you qualify to apply for a home, you will be sent a full application to be completed and returned with requested supporting documents.

4. Homebuyer Interview

Homebuyer applicants that have been approved to move forward are scheduled for a Homebuyer Interview with 2-3 members of our Homeowner Selection Committee. Interviews are conducted to assess need and willingness to partner as well as ensure applicants understand the process of being a Habitat homebuyer.

5. Selection Process

The final selection for Habitat homebuyer is conducted by our Homeowner Selection Committee, made up of volunteers, and based on our selection criteria – need for adequate housing, ability to pay, and willingness to partner.

Habitat follows a nondiscriminatory policy of homebuyer selection. 6. Loan Qualification

Once you are selected as a Habitat Homebuyer, our Homeowner Selection Committee will contact you and provide next steps for becoming a Habitat Homeowner. As part of this next step, the committee will help connect you with a qualified mortgage lending partner to begin your loan application and qualification process.

7. Complete Sweat Equity

The Homeowner Selection Committee will also work with you to schedule your required Sweat Equity hours, which will need to be completed before the final purchase and closing of your Habitat Home.

8. Home Closing

Once your home loan has been approved and you have completed your Sweat Equity hours, we will work with you to finalize the purchase of your Habitat Home.
