Sid came to us in November of last year as a volunteer through a local WorkSource program.

While Sid was born locally, he recently returned to the United States to complete his schooling after 20 years in Saudi Arabia where his father was working as an English teacher.

Sid has been working to complete his G.E.D.; he has spent the last 5 months working at our Lynnwood store part-time to gain work experience while finishing his schooling.

When asked about his time with us here at Habitat, Sid said “It’s been a fun experience! Not only does it give me something meaningful to do with my time, but it gives me the chance to learn a lot. It’s interesting to see the items that come through the stores as there are many things you see here in America that you don’t see in Saudi Arabia.”

“Sid has been such a great volunteer. His positive attitude and infectious laughter have brought so much joy to each workday. He truly has become part of our family here at Habitat.”

Outside of his time at Habitat, Sid enjoys playing soccer, spending time with his family (which includes his 20+ nieces and nephews), horseback riding, translating for his mom, and exploring different software and computer technology.

While Sid’s time with us through his program is soon coming to an end, he plans to continue to give his time to helping out at Habitat when he is able…especially on days when our volunteer engagement manager brings in her homecooked meals for the volunteers and staff.

We are so happy to have you, Sid! Thanks so much for sharing your time, energy, and unforgettable laugh with our Habitat Snohomish team!
